You get this right?

This is the concept I will be moving forward with......... only 10 days to knock it out!

All I have left to do is investigate final form.

Call me Martha

Made some visits to Atlanta Clay and Pikes Nursery yesterday to ask questions and begin to collect materials.
At Atlanta Clay they thought I was insane, they said they had received my email, I didn't bother to ask them why they didn't respond. But I did end up, walking away with 25lbs of natural Lizella Clay. Minded from a natural accruing vein of clay in Lizella Ga. Supposedly contains a bunch or Iron.

At Pikes I talked to a specialist for awhile who also thought I was insane. One for growing anything this time of year and two for growing in clay. However he was helpful and I walked away with vegetable potting mix, rosemary seedlings, natural fertilizer, and various vegetable seeds.

How do I address the issue of childhood obesity with clay? Well it's a stretch.... for sure. After researching ideas to make kids more active, I threw out the idea of creating play structures. There was no way I could justify using clay as opposed to any other material. So began to investigate the possibilities growing in clay. This tackles the idea of keeping kids mentally active and way from technology that keeps them inactive physically. It all so teaches kids steps for a healthier life style in the future, and possibly even eating better.

Take in mind I did not choose my market or my material. I would love feedback........

Pretty Pleased with the end results.........

This is my first cheesy attempt at Animation on Illustrator.

Attached is a beer label for my computers class, we had to use Adobe Illustrator and design label for and type of bottle. I chose beer, go figure. pretty pleased with the results. However looking as the rest of the classes I might have over analyzed and put to much time into it.

I'll have the rest up tomorrow.

Might be more interesting with a little context, you non psychology majors.

Our new project in studio is "Lightness," make of that what you will. For this project we have eight weeks to design a project with a certain target group and material. I was assigned CLAY and Children age 5-7. Should be interesting.

Today in studio we had to use our target population and material and come up with a fragrance and bottle design. I came up with this.....

Basically a customized natural looking bottle, no one bottle would be the same. Some what easy to manufacture and would be appealing to young children.
This is just an over all look at the progress of Project 1.

Don't worry my sketching is improving.

These photos and video clip our from our first show. The pictures below are just simple photos of the product in use.

And here is a clip of me explaining my product. I don't look nervous or awkward at all! Let see is you can count how many times I say "Um"

Project 1, LIGHT ended 2 weeks ago, and I've been slack about getting every thing posted. What I plan to do is start from the beginning and work backward to show the progress. I would love feedback, if you reading this. Be it constructive, or just general thoughts or feelings. You are allowed to hate as well. I will not hold it against you, to many people aren't honest.

The idea of Project 1 (Light), was to investigate lighting. We were rest
ricted to using not electrical lighting, whatever that may be. At the beginning
of our investigatio
n we were told to pick 5 light objects and present them to the class. My three main o
bject out of those five were, a Bull's Eyed Sign
al Lantern,(my favorite),
Traffic Light, and a Light house. If I was better at typing I would go I to more detail about how these worked and what attracted us to them.
After that we had to break down
out examples, and investigate then. For me it was pretty simple. Mine were all signaling devices. Simple? not really. When it can time for me to make a signaling device I took it too literal. Finally I realized I didn't have to actually signal to save or help some one, it was more the essence of signaling. after 50 sketches I started over again.......... this isn't undergrad. Final narrowing down what what was a good design and what captured the industrial yet simple mechanical feel or my origial chosen devices and what I like personally in design.

What I reached was "Time Escape". A sleek yet industrial looking device. After exploring it for weeks and many modifications. I landed on the design pictured. I fashioned a valve give the user full control of the product. Valve? This valve controls the flow water. Water? Yes! Simple yet mechanical. This is a double cylinder design, the outer cylinder is the the visible cylinder, and is the mount for the top lens. There is an internal cylinder that contain water. This cylinder is metallic and light refracting and is connected valve. A floating candle is places inside this inner cylinder, lit, and then a lens is placed back on top. Once this is done the user can adjust the valve at the bottom of the cylinder and adjust the flow of water out of the inner tube. The rate at which the water escapes from the tube plays a factor in how fast the candle (light source) falls through the inner tube. As the candle drops over time. The light projected out of the lens on top dims and falls across the walls differently. The water escapes out off the valve and falls into a cylindrical container located underneath the valve. This creates a drip or flow or water sound. Once the water drains out of the upper cylinder the candle can be removed via a brass rod located in the tube, designed to lift the floating candle, and the water may be poured back into the inner cylinder from the glass retaining cylinder.

How is this a Signal? Well it is in essence a timer. Even though there is no exact time recorded, the users can control the time. It is a timer of sorts. A mood lighting timer.......
